Anime's Best/I'm still alive

Wow, it has been well over a year now since I have made any sort of sign that I am alive here at DA, kind of sad when you look at it. Hell, I bet a lot of thought I packed up and left for good. Well if you’re reading this then you might be pleased to know that I am still alive and kicking, just not like I used to. Things are continuously busy for me it seems and since I am not in any kind of writing course anymore, it makes it harder and harder to write things on my free time because I seem to be just drained at the end school and such. But that does not hold me from viewing work that is posted by everyone. Though I no longer comment on work any more due to time constraints, I do take great pleasure in viewing everyone’s work.

But enough about that now, what brings me to this post is something that I have been pondering for a long time. Today I took sometime out of my day and got a chance to read some manga’s and watch some anime since it must have been a month since I last got a chance to. As I was watching through random episodes, I found myself come across One Piece and as I was watching I started thinking to myself. Just random things at first but then I found myself thinking more and more into it. What I was wondering was, in anime/manga, which character is the most memorable one? Like who really pulls out those defining moments in the series that makes you look at him and go “wow”. Now, I know most people when thing like this our ask, names like Sasuke and Naruto, Spike(Cowboy Bebop), or even Kenshin (Samurai X) are the first to come to mind in most cases but I wanted to dive a little deeper and look to see what else I could find. After thinking for a couple of minutes I came to the conclusion that my choice would be Luffy(One Piece). Now I know that is an odd choice because lets face it, Luffy certainly isn’t the brightest character in anime but I have seen and read all of One Piece to date and every time there was something big going on Luffy pulled it off with such grace and emotion that you can’t help but be drawn in by what he says. I mean examples of this are clearly shown in the recent events at the war in Enies Lobby. His speech to Robin has to be one of thee greatest moments in anime I have seen. But not only that, when Nami was finally crushed by Arlong, what Luffy does and says you can help but feel good.

This brings me to the point of this post. If you are reading this please answer because I would really like to hear everyone’s opinion on this for my interest and too see if maybe I either skipped over someone or am being one dimensional.

1. Who do you think is the most memorable character in anime/manga?
2. What do you think is the most memorable moment in anime/manga?

I’ll post my answers to this in my comment section, but I look forward to what people have to say about this.

Till next time

True to my word, here it is:

1. As mentioned earlier, I think Luffy from One Piece is. For a character that is so simple minded it seems, he always seems to make scenes that I never forget.

2. As for most memorable, this was a tough one cause there are a few ex. Spike and Vicious in the cathedral or Edward and Alphonse Elric at the end of the FMA series. But I once again have to go back to Luffy and Nami. When Nami is stabbing herself and Luffy intervenes the simple answers and actions make all the difference. When he give her his treasure you know that Luffy is more then serious.

Well there you go, hope to here from ya.

Later.

I'd have to say Ed, from Cowboy Beebop. She was just so much like my friend, I couldn't possibly forget her.

2. What do you think is the most memorable moment in anime/manga?
I will always remember that part in Record of Lodoss War where the dark elf jumps in front of the dragon's fire, and then the guy just holds her dead body as the ground gives way and they fall. Either that or Tatsuki fighting the hollow in Bleach.

I bet a lot of thought I packed up and left for good.
It had crossed my mind ^.^;
